Quick Question

The wifes belt tensioner pulley stopped turning today. Is it a two piece assembly or one? Got a pulley from the auto parts store but can't seem to budge the old one off. This is for a 91 gmc suburban with the 350 in it.

Re: Quick Question

There is the pulley and then the spring loaded arm. The pulley is held on with a 13mm bolt and the arm is held on with one 15mm bolt. You can just replace the pulley but I always replace the whole thing at the same time. It's also good because it keeps your belt tight and from slipping, plus there is the chance of the spring inside breaking if it's too old.

Re: Quick Question

The arrow is the bolt that removes the whole thing. (kinda obvious I guess) Just a quick few example pics so you get an adea of what it all looks like.

Re: Quick Question

Never got the pulley off. Ended up taking it back and getting the hole assembly. Big red is running again now if I could just figure out all the troubles with the lights and stuff.

Re: Quick Question

Sorry it took so long to get back. Shortly after having a cd player and speakers installed. Alot of things stopped working on the burb. Brake lights, turn signals, horn, interior lights, a/c, and back up lights to name a few. The wife and I both have checked ALL the fuses on several occasions. Not sure if all these things are linked or if its several different problems. Oh forgot to mention that the audio shop also installed and wired up my wifes front bumper turn signal lights. Thanks in advance for your help.
