Something like that. I have been jonesing for one of these for a long time. Thanks for the congrats, but the baby is a girl. God just loves me. My older daughter is a gearhead, so it works out in the end. She loves the truck. Mama, probably not as much. She has been pretty supportive, though.

Yeah, I know. My buddy Scott is moving up from Austin to a place about 4 blocks away. I am sure something will be cooking. Here is a pic of the Cadillac we put together for his Dad. We swapped the frame from my '94 Brougham that got hit in the side. My car had Hotchkis sway bars and control arms, Flowmaster cat back, LT1, etc. We added an Impala SS steering box and rebuilt the front end. It is a blast to drive. Scott and his brother took in the first leg of the Power Tour, and left the car at my place. Sounded like a good enough excuse to bring it to work this morning.....

Maybe. But not necessarily. My daughter will work on trucks with me anytime but neither of my boys have much interest. Not yet anyway. Congrats on the newest bundle of joy!

Got to tune in on this one. I really want a CCSB too. I bought a 3/4t single cab lwb for a work truck about 2 months ago. Yesterday I found a CCLB 3/4t for the same price in the same colors...bad timing...

I like your idea about the woodgrain wrap on the sides, I was thinking of doing the same thing if I ever get one. I would use a early 70's color for the rest that would be a throw back to when that was done at the factory.

I have the deep lust for one of these very trucks, I have an 05 CCSB that's usually full of kids, and it'd be cool to have an older one.

Congrats on your homie movin' in close. Always good to have solid peeps close by. When you firin' up the chop saw?

I am definitely stoked to have them move close. We had a shop together in Austin to play with cars, but a 400 mile round trip to throw down of a weekend is brutal, especially almost every weekend. 6 blocks is a lot better commute. We have another of Scott's cars going that is an '87 Monte SS with turbo Buick (Grand National) drivetrain that we took off of the frame a few years back. We did a lot of G body stuff- mainly Buicks- at our shpo and we bought a car that was owned by a guy that had a powder coating shop. After he blew the car up, everything he could pull off of it he powdercoated, then lost interest. There is a lot of that on the Monte. He also had it caged, it has 4 wheel Baer brakes, and a whole host of other stuff. It is going to be stupid insane when it is done. My truck is going to be waaaaaaay more budget friendly.

No movement at all, almost. Since summer is here, the heat blew out one of the tires while it has been sitting here at the shop. Just a lot of doo doo diapers and no sleep for me, thanks.

That is just parts of a bed we had here at the shop. We just set it on there to see how many of the holes will line up, and see how much to cut off of the rear. I do have a complete bed at the house to put on the truck. I was able to start stripping down my parts frame last night, so I can get the rear end out and get going with that.
