2000 Blazer Transmission Problem... No reverse!

I have a 00 Blazer with 172K. It runs, drives, shifts PERFECT in all forward gears. It will cruise 70 mph all day long. No check engine light! (it works on gauge check). The transmission fluid is full, looks good, has no metal and just slightly dirty. The blazer looks to have been well taken care of. Overall a real nice ride.

BUT it has no reverse, none. It worked perfect one time and was gone the next... what gives?

One person said shift thingy and the next said the reverse band...

4L60E's only have 1 band, The 2-4 band has nothing to do with reverse. The Reverse input & Low/Reverse clutches are the frictions for reverse

No reverse = Trans removal....Unless your shifting to neutral because a worn shift cable.

I agree. A stock a stock tranny with 173K miles is due for a rebuild. It may drive ok for a while, but it's only a matter of time. I've seen most trannys fail between 100-150K miles.
