91 S10 no spark at coil

Hello, I'm new to the s10 area. I just got a 91 with a 2.8 that will not start. This is a future V8 project but I really want to get it running now just to make it easier to move around between projects. I replaced plugs and coil but still no fire at coil. Question is what could be next? I don't want to throw alot of money at it right now. Thanks HB

Remove the ignition module. Have it tested. Does everything else electrical work?

Thanks for the reply. Yes lights, horn, radio, etc. all work. I'll test that module. Where can I take it? Thanks again.

It is located under the distributor cap. They commonly go bad on S10s... when they do, you usually will not have spark nor will you have fuel spraying from the injectors upon cranking.

Most parts stores will check them as far as I kniow.

Just a quick update. I was looking at these older post and saw this one. Truck just turned 300K and still running. This forum always gives great advise.

I just bought a S15 and the guy advertised it as having no spark, but having a new coil. I brought a new module with me and drove it home.....
