402 Cheyenne Super SWB - No Sale @ 28K

They always look better in photos, mind you. Not mine, just passing along. You might have to subscribe to mecum infonet to see auction results.

And a 4x4 AC 4-speed sold for 9K

Blue truck is very nice. But it says Never been restored or painted. The super emblem on right side is mounted wrong. I would like to have it in my garage any day.

I forgot too. Some nice cars, but lots of no sales. I guess that's to be expected first time out.

Still on eBay. Now at $23,100. Not only is the Super emblem in the wrong place, but both emblems appear to be set away from the body as if attached with foam trim tape. If it's original paint, what happened to the holes for the studs? It does look nice though.

I think this is the same truck and the first link is for the Ebay ad and the second is a thread on the truck.

The Super Emblems were the first thing to jump out at me. It makes you wonder why somebody would go to that much detail, and not get the emblems right.

Oh, I forgot, its original.

Wow, fake SPID and everything. BRIGHT orange tach needle, but claims to be an original tach truck. I could go on, but I won't. Sure shows that people need to get educated before dumping a lot of money on ANY vehicle.

If top bid at the auction was around $25K, top eBay bid is around $23K, and he's still got the reserve at $38K. The only trucks worth $38K would be this truck if it were (a) real, and (b) frame-off restored, neither of which it is.

You really hit on the key thing about these trucks- Get Educated!!!! This truck has some red flags that I suspect would just lead to the owner saying "I bought it like that" or "the previous owner said" This website is our only reliable source of information about these trucks. We don't have a Corvette registry and meticulously kept GM records. What is really scary is the info that gets put out on the Facebook portion of this website. I feel bad for how uneducated some owners are. It's not their fault but I've caught posts with 5 or 6 wrong comments back to back. Scary indeed.

I have one just like it in the barn. I guess I need to get it out and build, er, I mean clean it up.

Interesting thing is, the truck in question would bring more if it was presented as what it is.

Re: 402 Cheyenne Super SWB - No Sale @ 28K

28K is a very respectable amount of money. It got that high because of the trucks condition, color combo, and options...not because of the sellers claims of "all original" or the silly glovebox sticker.
