Re: '67 Short Step #2

Something you may want to consider. After you have the cab painted and before you put the bed on, you might want to sand and reclear everything (bed and cab) to smooth and blend everything together. Might be a good idea seeing that the bed was already painted and the paint has "worn" some. PM me if you want details on how to do this. Takes a little more clear and time but well worth it.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

Well I got the inside painted and done but once again I have no camera to show everyone. I'm getting the motor back this week and hope to have the truck drivable by the 26th of June! Bobbo will have to take pictures when we install the motor.

Thanks!
There's a car show in Blue Springs, MO (my hometown) on the 28th of June. It's actually put on by a friend of mine. It will be at:
Time and Place Date: Saturday, June 28, 2008
Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Location: Car show at Blue Springs Church of the Nazarene.
2801 SW Walnut Blue Springs MO 64014
Street: Cemetary road / walnut
City/Town: Blue Springs, MO
All Kansas City People should come out. It was a pretty good time last year.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

kyull67 glad to hear this thing is coming together; you've have to make up a lot of ground losing the first '67. We might have to try and make it up to the show in Blue Springs in a few weeks. Are you going to be able to make it to the Midwest All Truck Nat's? There's a thread about it in the Midwest Events part of the board. I think we will have several board members attending this year, so it should be a good turnout.

Can't wait to get a closer look at your truck!

Nice looking engine work. I know alot of guys on here who are going to be jealous of you as gas gets higher in price!

I know, I'll be one of them...

I wonder if they make a fuel cell conversion yet for my '67???...

Re: '67 Short Step #2

man, thats turning out awesome.

and i'm lovin' me some pics of a 6's innards. Those intake ports without the bolt boss should really help out your flow, especially further down the road when you slap a turbo on it.

keep at it, you're on the home stretch!

Great build thread kyull67....I am envious of all the body work you have done....I think I am going to a community college soon to learn how to weld!!!....

By the way....how's the budget of $5,500 going??....after reading the complete thread...I calculate you've spent $4,400....or maybe I missed something....that's awesome man....

Keep the pics coming....I got a deadline of Late July for my resto.....want to have it ready when I graduate!!!

Re: '67 Short Step #2

Thanks. I haven't had the chance to check the numbers on the budget lately but I think it's looking more like $6,500 when it's completed. Probably a little lower than that but I'll add up the actual numbers when I get a chance and post it.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

OK, You've got me curious so I went ahead and ran some numbers. These are very close but not exact to actual prices.
Truck-$850
Bed-$1000
Wheels and tires-$550
Engine work and ALL parts for it(I don't have a few things yet but added them in)-$2200
Paint Supplies-$500
Body panels etc-$350
Misc small parts-$250 to be safe
Total for now-$5700

I still need to buy Windsheild, Carpet, Pedal Pads, Sill Plates, rear window rubber, and bed wood.
It'll be a little over budget, but who's project isn't?

gcburdic, he had a house fire and lost the first '67 project, but he rebounded on top and has turned out another great looking '67!

kyull67/bobbo, I think we might try to stop by the show on the way back, as we're heading to KS Saturday morning. Hope to be able to meet up with you guys!

I almost forgot to mention, the truck is looking great. Nice work Kyle!!!

I may not be able to go to Blue Springs afterall, didn't realize we are so close to the board meet. Definitely going to that.

This truck is turning out great. Love the color and the ideas Kyle has put into it. A real treat for me to help out whenever I can as I can't seem to find the winning lotto ticket to start on mine yet. (People keep telling me you have to BUY a lotto ticket to have a chance of winning, doh!)
