Factory gauges for Gen V swap 70 Suburban?

I’ve been in touch with Ken at standaloneharness.com about a harness for my LT swap. He recommends using CAN gauges which look sharp and work with the Gen V harness but I really want the factory look. I’ve been searching for a reproduction gauge but can’t find anything. Anyone know of anything out there that will work for this application? Thanks!

Assuming your looking for oil pressure and temperature. Why don't you use the factory ones. You will have to have the temperature sender turned down and rethreaded to install in the passenger side head. Do a search on rethreading the sensor to find more info and the member who does the rethreading. You can replace the factory wire to the sensor without too much work if it needs to be longer.
The oil pressure line most likely will have to be lengthened to reach the nearest oil gallery. Or you can tee it with the LT's sensor.
And with some ingenuity you can rewire the the factory temperature idiot light to be the check engine light.

Good luck and welcome aboard!

If it breaks I didn't want it in the first place

Thanks for the info! I’d like to use all gauges and the tach as it came in the CST models. I’d really rather connect all gauges to the ECM. Just seems cleaner and easier if I can find the right gauges. Thanks again!

Try dropping a PM to Tbone1964 as he is the guage guru. If he doesn't do the conversion he may know who does.

Re: Factory gauges for Gen V swap 70 Suburban?

Like the others said, you can use the factory temp sender for the temp gauge, then tap into an oil galley for oil pressure. The ammeter is better replaced with a voltmeter which can be had out of a square body truck, or Tbone sells a nice kit for it. As for the tach and speedo you could use a Dakota Digital SGI-5E which is a CANBUS interface that puts out signals for tach and speedo. Then you could get a Dakota Digital speedometer converter which is a box with a motor that spins the factory speedo cable, or you can convert the speedo to electronic which is what I do. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...?t=512751These
