hi from new zealand

hi first time here, i have just imported a 63 lwb fleetside pickup from california.It is running a 283-327 smallblock,not sure which one yet,granny 4 speed and 12 bolt.someone may even recognise it if so let me know.My last car was a 55 chev fordor running big block 402,muncie 4 speed and 9 inch diff,that ran flat 13s on a 1/4 mile.

how it going lowride,didnt think there was to many 60s pickup about in nz but i may be wrong,what are you running in your 65 pickup,cheers

I thought that as well, but since I bought mine in '05 I'd guess I've seen a fair few, about 20 at a guess just that I've seen in Auckland and featured in a few mags. I'm running a 454 with a turbo 400, but she's still a work in progress. Where in NZ are you from?.

hi there stllookn,i dont think there is much in the way of suppliers for new reproduction panels and the doorhinge pins and latches i just put in my truck i got from good old usa and only took about seven days.You miss out the middle man that way i suppose.Will have a look around and let you know because i need a tailgate and rear bumper for my 63 longbed but i dont like my chances in NZ, i may have to import them ex usa

you could try chucks in west auckland .i bought a chrome front bumper couple months back for around $ 200 his website is www.chucksnz.co.nz

hi chevgirl,im in masterton and my 55 was blue & white and rego was IBAD55 used to have a play on the strip about eight years ago at hood aerodrome in masterton.heres some more pics of my truck i just put a 454 into her today and fits like a glove,just got too find the right headers to fit now.wil try and put some pics of 55 up at some stage(only have photos now)cheers

Cool, we just went to the Super Chevy Sunday last weekend in Taupo where there was about 60 cars and trucks. Great weekend..maybe see you there next time!
