My rear axle is 1.5" or so forward also. I only have 4" shackle flip kit.
Have you checked the actually wheelbase measurement? should be 127" correct? I need to remember to check that tonight.

Hard to be live that they tried twice to install door frame trim and I had to do it my self Saturday. The house painting should be done Tuesday then I get to move back in and get back on the truck.

Thanks. I've been seeing all you guys going LS and I've almost been thinking of doing a burb with one. But I have to finish some old projects first. Haha

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

After looking a little closer at your header issue the only difference i see is that i went with pacific fabs cross member and the motor mounts may set up a little higher.

Yes that right. The DD mount I used set the engine about 1.5" lower and caused a lot of issue with headers.

I agree on the noise Once I get it drivable I will have to look at what to do about the noise. I have my finger crossed getting it running in the next 2 week. I have a nother transmission on the way this time installing 727. only bummer is I have to have drive shaft made to fit.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

I got some work done today and welded up my headers so they fit. I wish I did what I did on the left side for the right. left side I cut the why pipe loose and rotated it in about 3/8" and was able to grind the piece I cut out and reuse it. Now if I can just find the collectors for the headers I could start the exhaust
