My new project c10

Since I bought the truck i have changed the bed to fleetside not in the best shape but it could work. The front suspension was changed to 5 lug since the rear was done already. Brake booster and ms was changed too since disc went on the front. Truck came with a 350 with 650 cfm edelbrock, .040 over, trw pistons, no info on cam, headers. Im currently doing the floor pans and the rocker panels on it. Panels were shot but when carpet went up new discoveries popped up that being the floor rust. I bought the truck for 3,000 so let me know if that was a good price for it or if I overpaid for it.

Re: My new project c10

Looks like a good start but I'd check that block of wood under the tire It looks to be on the wrong side to stop it from rolling out of the driveway.

Re: My new project c10

of course truck was more intact when i bought it. I took the mirrors off cause they were huge. The bumpers went off cause they are going to be replaced with chrome ones one day. Gutted the interior.

Re: My new project c10

Plans=Broke

I eventually want to take it apart to pc the frame and suspension. Get some 20" Torq Thrust wheels on it. Maybe a nice powered 383 or big block in it. Of course a paint job. Original looking interior. Want to keep the appearance streetable and not like a strip truck.

Re: My new project c10

I assume the cab mounts are ok and the cab corners and above the windshield and doors as well? If so you bought a running driving truck for good money. Most any unrestored 40+ yr old is going to have some rust. You've got it going on already with the new floor panels.

Im also thinking about moving the bomb behind the seat to the back of the truck. I will have to talk to the guy that makes them here on the board to see if I can get one done.

Yes sir.... corners, windshield drip rail, and doors are in good shape. I went ahead and replaced more than I had to on the floors and then the rocker panels. Pass. Fender had usual rust at the corner so I bought new fenders.

Is that an Impala steering wheel? I dig it!
Reminds me of the family car we had when I was a kid.

I guess thats what mine look like at one point but stepside. The guy I bought it from changed the front clip to a 68 which I personally like better than 69-72

yellowGT...looks like a good start. I have always said that if you like the price that you paid...then its a good deal. Now it's time to give your truck your personality.

Re: My new project c10

It sounded like a deal at the time especially because i had been shopping around for one and the only decent ones were about 3k with motors and about 2k to 2500 as a roller. So with a motor I thought it was a decent one. Oh well!
