Need help!! Can't get brake drum off!
Any ideas on getting a stuck brake drum off been at it for 2 hours beating prying and a half can of PB Blaster it will not budge I backed the shoes all the way off it spins free, I have no movement around the studs. I'm taking it off to change 2 studs. any ideas??

I'm not sure if it applies here but some brake drums are rivited to the front hubs, so you have to grind them away first or remove the whole hub assembly.

This is what it looks like it does have what could be rivers I started to drill one out but did not think that was it

It was riveted on all the rest came right off thanks for the info lesson learned

All the front drums I remember back when they were new had the hub and the drum attached, usually the studs were somehow flared and that kept them one piece. I think it was called splenching, or squenching, or something like that. Some old timers have the tool to do it, but most shops never heard of it and won't know what you're talking about.

Yep my 48 Fleetline was like that, I just ground the rivet off...

judging by the looks of the drum, it is probably bent now.

No it's not bent lol I got it off and studs replaced real easy once I got the the rivers drilled out.

Haha no offense but this is actually quite funny. Lol I could see myself beating on a brake drum to get it off then my uncle coming in and saying "hey dumb azz it is rivited on quit making so much noise" lol. Again no offense to you.

Lol no offense taken. That's what I was doing. None of the other 3 were riveted.

you'll still find rear brake drums stuck on the registers from time to time, little squirt of PB and smack it with a hammer, falls right off....

I know mine stick all of the time, no rivets, just dumb old rust, I have to take a torch and heat up the very outer edge, then take a sledge to the back of it and off it comes.
