Tie-down hook suggestions?

My 87 swb has a nice pace-edwards roll bed cover. I really like it but for me to load my bike in the bed, I have to actually remove the front plastic cover of the unit, and put those cheesy stake tie down points in the stake holes since the plastic cover blocks half of the stake hole. I posted a pic so you can understand what I mean. I have spent some time just looking in the bed, seeing where I can maybe mount or possibly weld a strong mounting point but I am stumped! Any suggestions?

Here is what the cover looks like:

Here is the plastic cover piece that is blocking access to the stake hole for an anchor point drop in.

Re: Tie-down hook suggestions?

if you get the atchment for the bed holes and grind a bit og of the loop it should fit around that pastic part.

like this but they are allways up

there is also this option

id get me some of these and customize it a bit so tha the flush part is under the plastic and the other is in the air. Like welding a nother piece to it so it woill be fully closed at all times

And then there is this

And my last idea intell i think of more http://www.extang.com/docs/cargocleats.html

Re: Tie-down hook suggestions?

you could mount the tie downs to the inside of the bed below the stack pockets, on the stack pocket "tunnel". They would always be there when you needed, but out of side when bed cover on and would not interfere with operation of said bed cover. Or you could just be a bike mount (holds front fork with tire removed) and mouht it to the bottom of the bed.
