dunno about the cam, stock I assume.
I was figuring on swapping it eventually.

I got it complete for cheap.

Then you'd be ok with the 58cc 305 heads. Make it run pretty good in fact. I thought you had a set of those?

Re: And so it begins................

Yes I do have a pair of those heads.
They are on the engine in the 80 now.
They would need a little work. I have thought about using those or finding some 64cc heads. I know where I can get a set of TBI heads, but they are gonna need work also. I wouldn't mind vortecs either. Maybe after I get the crew on the road I'll do something with it

The TBI heads will give you the best gas mileage as well as bottom end torque. They aren't much good above 4000rpm but if you're not going to change the pistons and the cam then you won't be up there much anyway. Make the Vortecs a future project and slap the TBI's on there. You can also use a stock intake with the TBI heads. You only have to notch the 2 center bolt holes at the top. If you use vortecs you will have to buy a special 8 bolt intake manifold to go with them and then you need to upgrade your cooling system if it isn't top notch as you will lose the rear water passages on the intake unless you pipe in a bypass which isn't very pretty.

You probably already know this crap I'm just tossing it out there for consideration again.

Yeah it's a gut splitter. I wonder if they make a fat boy go-ped for people like me. If I got on that one ................................ it would be laying frame all the way down the track. Be a cool light show though huh? If I hit the nitrous it would just amount to alot of tire smoke.

Hey now guys, I wish I had that money back, To be truthful, I had just finished up a huge job for someone and had a little money, well, to be truthful, I did not want the wife to get it so i did the next best thing, built my Engine, sure it was a little bit, had I known know what i did then, I would have done a new 6L twin turbo for that dollar, oh well, live and learn, And BTW, I sure widh I had that money now, I barely have enough to pay bills, just chugging along rigth now, slowly getting there. Get a couple of cars done for other ppl and I will be close to out of the hole, I hope. On the bright side, I do enjoy my truck immensely, evn thou most of it is on credit card right now, The wife use to spend too mush money on things and we done got broke, well I always felt bad about buying myself things so I said screw it one day and started ordering parts. Do i regret it, NOT A CHANCE. Look at what I am driving!!! HAVOC. Anyways later guys, BTW, that did not peeve me off, just wanted to clarify.

Dang.............................

Lay down on my couch and tell me all about it.

Just playing dude. Everybody gets stung by the truck bug. I picked this truck up last April and within 2 months I had already dropped 2500 before I realized it. You could have done a TT 6.0L but then yours would be like everyone elses on the LSx list brother. I prefer to tell people about my buddies 10,000 gen1 engine.

Re: And so it begins................

I drove the truck all day Friday and it was cutting out on me. Acted like a fuel issue. I'll probably change the filters first since I installed a new fuel pump already last summer. I did run a compression test on it just to see what it had and 6 cylinders were about 120lbs but #5 was 110lbs and #4 was 100lbs. Not terribly bad but I am a little concerned about #4. The truck still runs pretty good though and doesn't smoke too bad yet so I'll probably keep driving it for a while and just do some body work.

It's not like your engine hasn't been stress tested.

All it takes is one light, man. You can write it off after that.

And you smoked Neil's Dodge. I didn't get into the race with you all. I just watched on. I went on by later to make my inline 6's self esteem go up a bit.
