I've got Flowmaster super 40's and going with 3" pipe. The only problem is finding an exhaust shop around here that will do good work.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Not much progress today, wife and I went to the chiropractor early this morning to get tweaked on a little, got back home and finished the trim around the a/c I put in the garage, then came grass mowing time and a couple hours of weed wacking. Finally this evening I had a little time to work on getting the headers off and try the new ones. The passenger side will fit but is very close to the frame on one of the tubes so tomorrow I will probably grind a little "cope" in the frame rail. I haven't got the drivers side off yet, going to have to loosen the motor mounts and raise the motor up a couple inches. I'm tired this evening so I'm going to relax for a while....

Thanks Keith, I'm starting to wonder now if the Trick Flow heads on my motor are maybe just a little thicker than stock heads at the exhaust ports? Both sets of headers are very close, if not rubbing, the frame rails. At least when I get these ones fitting right they won't scuff the road. Looks like your painting is coming along nice. Won't be long and you'll be burning up the road....

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Good news, the Sanderson BB8 headers fit. About 20 min of grinding a little half moon on the pass side frame rail they worked out nice. Now I'll take them back off and send them to get ceramic coated next week. I also set my buddy buckets in today that I purchased from Scott Duckworth. SWEET!!!!
I'll post pics in a while

That's great news! Glad they worked out. What's the turnaround time gonna be on the coating?

Thanks, I'm going to ship them out Monday, so probably two weeks which works out good for me because I'm out of town two weeks at a time.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Here's my favorite picture of the day. I couldn't stand it any longer, I've had these for a while just had to put them in today. I just want to thank Scott Duckworth again for the trouble he went thru to ship these and the honesty about the quality of them. I need to get some sound deadener and order the carpet soon and the interior will be set.

Awesome Jason, man those look great in your truck. Do you think they feel pretty comfortable with the extra bolstering around the edges?

Scott, these seats feel great. The old seat that was in it was out of a '55 Chevy car and I was worried about having enough room for me, I'm about 6' 2" and 245 pounds so I'm no little guy. After putting the buddy's in its very comfortable. One question for ya, what's the little piece of angle and the spring for?

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Worked on it a little while tonight, got all the marker lights in and the buckets for the tail lights and reverse lights. I'm going to order some Fesler lights for the rear soon.

Jason, the angle iron is called a " cab brace ". It goes on the cab just above the gas tank and is to be lined up behind the middle buddy bucket seat to keep it from hitting the cab or gas tank. The spring is to hold the jack down. It came with the seat when I bought it.

Thanks Scott, I couldn't figure those two items out.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Guys spend good money on those braces. They run $50.00-$90.00 depends but a lot of people want the brace with the seats. It adds the extra originality to the buddy seat setup.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Well it's about time to head back to work, shipped out my headers to get coated this morning. Called around about getting exhaust done, I found a place about 30 min away that I will probably go with. A couple of questions for you guys, what is the best fitting carpet for our trucks, and what did you use for sound deadener mat under the carpet??? I'm starting to try to button up a few loose ends here and there.
