Re: Some guys have skills and some have bills
I always braize mine but welding works too. Not sure i would have welded it on the engine though. Engine is looking good.

We just put a bit of cardboard under there and hit it really quick. I guess it would have been a bit smarter to weld first then bolt on.

Re: Some guys have skills and some have bills
I just painted the engine bay today!!
First we hit it with the pressure washer. Once it was dry we scrubbed it really well so it was nice and clean. The previous owner painted it a few years ago black it actually looked pretty decent. We didn't really rough it up or sand it down just sprayed it all black again. My buddy has a paint gun, and he had some extra black paint. I just bought a little paint thinner and taped her up... Not exactly a 100% attention to every little detail here, but I didn't want to pay a shop to do it. I know it will look a lot better then before Here are the before pics, the tape and the gun... below is the finished wet product...

Re: Some guys have skills and some have bills
Bolted on the motor mounts, left out the thermostat, but I need to get a new harmonic balancer. My buddy thought it looked really rough and it felt like it was going to split/break, so I'm going to order a new one.
