who doesn't? those are nice

my favorite Smith & Wesson isn't pretty but fairly sure it has some stories to tell..

Navy Victory delivered 1 year and a 1 day after the invasion of Pearl Harbor

all numbers matching, butt, barrel, cylinder, ejector, and rh grip panel with correct U.S. NAVY stamp and Jinks letter..

this low serial still has the original butt swivel, yes that is the actual part name for the lanyard ring

teasing me with a 1971 old model Ruger huh? jealous but I like it!

I only have two 1971 unconverted old model Rugers .357 and .22 convertible for now..

the Colt pictured with it is a 1971 peacemaker .22 convertible..

looks like a muzzle loader, barrel should be marked..

otherwise you could have it safety checked and caliber verified by a bonafide gunsmith..

mine is a .45 and takes .444 round ball.. they're fun to shoot!

this was a few years ago, 65 chevy C20 in the background..

Re: 20 Years

Great looking rifle there Killer Bee Did ya ever kill anything with it ?

I have been funnin with ya's ... acually I made the darn thing and at a distance it looks more real than up close .

it is a 3/4 inch water pipe with a cap gun hammer and trigger with a electrical conduit clamp sawed in half for a trigger guard ..

I layed my pump shot 12 gu. gun on a piece of fir lumber about 2 1/2 inches thick and drew a line around it and cut the stock out with a jig saw ,, used a rasp to get it almost in to the shape I wanted and hand filed and sandpaper to finish it ,, stained it and ,,thats it..

People told me that if I were to be robbed ,,I would have the upper hand knowing he was pointing that home made gun at me ..

I made the gun I think in around 1972

I have guns. I posted a pic of my Ruger K10/22T somewhere here. I have others, but I'm not posting pics of them, or the tomahawks, axes or hatchets that might or might notbe strategically placed around my house. One never knows when a tree limb needs cutting off and put into the fireplace.

Re: 20 Years

wow, got me good on that one GOPAPA

looks good hanging up there, creative and functional robbery deterrent

my muzzle loader was a CVA kit Christmas present, think I was 14 or 15.. put it together with minimal finish intending to stain the stock later.. well after about 35 years still isn't done

muzzle loader season opens earlier and closes later or something like that but I always harvested in regular rifle season.. we have more deer than you can shake a stick at and counted on meat in the freezer.. and quite frankly I wasn't proficient enough to hunt responsibly with it anyways.. but I sure did enjoy target shooting, those were the biggest bullet holes any of my guns made back then

Re: 20 Years

Have several pistols nothing old except the little .25 my grandfather bought in the 30s. Mostly long rifles but this is my favorite my grandfather brought this with him from Italy when he was 16. It a Belgian built 16 gauge bird and small game shotgun made around 1880 or so . Takes light loads only.

Last is a German youth training rifle my uncle brought back from Germany when the war was over.

Re: 20 Years

We got a letter from the Department Of Justice stating the form we had filled out was obsolete. So they rejected it. They gave us the new form number and I printed it out.

Keep in mind that the first form is the form that they told us to fill out.

The revised form is EXACTLY the same as the first one. No difference at all except the revision date...That's it.

I swear these people don't want to give the gun back to her despite the fact that she has proof of ownership and she paid a lot of money for it and it was stolen from her. They will not cooperate at all.

It took them 6 days to get back to us and the clock is ticking. This is very frustrating.

So I guess it's another $26 bucks to overnight the same form again.

Department of Justice????

Re: 20 Years

Had a judge trying to keep a buddies stainless S&W .44 magnum when we were younger. Someone at the department may have their eye on that piece or be one of those that think nobody needs a gun and wants it destroyed.

Or, they could all be your atypical, do nothing government employee. Hard to say.

Keep at it, the curiosity now has me.

Re: 20 Years

After all these years you will never know if it had been used in any homicides or not. Suppose the popo lost or did not do the slug tests search. I would be leery of something surfacing some time down the road after I got it back and the records show I own it.
On the other hand, with this paperwork crap it is the principal of the thing that matters to me.

I just wonder if whoever stole it had to answer as many questions as we have had to.

Probably not. They have rights.

But I like donuts. I can't do that. Maybe a Yoga place? I don't like Yoga. Or a restaurant that serves you Kale.

Forget the donut shops ...They are safe.

Mrs. Bee will eat objectionable tasting food for its nutritional value and pretend she likes it..
