Crazy nice blazer

Haven't ever seen a better example. Need this documented before it sells. Saw for sale in Anaheim CA

This is a documented one owner low mile highly optioned 1972 K/5 Blazer CST. It is optioned with the original matching number 350 ci engine, tachometer with gauges, tilt steering column air conditioning, positraction front and rear differentials, skid plate, camper mirrors, chrome hubcaps, rear seat, and much more. This truck has the original paint and interior as well. This was sold new to a Navy officer April 11, 1972 at Colonial Chevrolet in Norfolk, VA and came out to California the same year when he was transferred to San Diego. Comes with the original Owners Manual and Protecto-Plate It has been well maintained and cared for running and driving excellent! The undercarriage was steam cleaned to show that there is no rust in the floors or the frame. There is some corrosion behind both doors on the lower quarter panel it meets the rear lower part of the door but it does not intrude into the floors or rockers.

Wow, what a sharp well optioned Blazer. Love the color. Seems strange that with all the options, no radio ordered. Could you get the wood grain glove box door and door panels from the factory on a Blazer? If so, I assume the gauge cluster would have been wood grain also.

Door panels in '72 with the CST package were woodgrain. The glovebox door was not-only Cheyenne Super trucks.

The original owner was def. into tacky add-ons.

It formerly belonged to a Naval [or Marine] officer. That blue rectangle on the driver's side front bumper below the headlight is a base sticker. In that period, the officer's rank would also be in a white inset.
They were supposed to scrape the sticker off when the officer left service, or sold the truck.

Funny story:
My '68 C/10 Stepside had once belonged to the Catholic Chaplain at Camp Pendleton MCB, a Navy Captain [O-6 = Col]. The Padre got overseas orders and advertized in the base paper for some one to make an offer and take over payments. An Army Sgt at nearby Ft Irwin [I think] jumped on the deal. Fast forward to 1973, and the gas crunch. He's now a civilian in Pasadena, the wife's PG, and she wants him to sell the ''gas hog'' Stepside and buy a Toyota.
So I bought it off him. I was a civilian, but I had Marine buddies, and wound up joining myself in December of that year. The truck stayed with my parents in Tucson when I went thru Boot. A year later, when I got orders to Cherry Point, NC, I drove it 2,000 miles back east.
I was a PFC. I thought it was strange for the Gate Guard at my new duty station to be rendering me a snappy salute, but I returned the courtesy.
About the third time I came back on base from a run into town, the Sgt at the Gate said, ''Give my compliments to your father the Colonel.''
''My father's not a Colonel,'' I said.
''OK, then pull over on the right, PFC.''
And he scraped my Blue sticker off and placed a fresh Red one [Enlisted] in its place.
Faded now, but I still have a base sticker from MCAS Yuma on the bumper.

It’s a tilt and these were all black with a matching black wheel.

I hate to say it, but that is a good price, on a one owner documented Blazer. You just don’t see them like this anymore. I wonder if it is the original paint?

There used to be a racing superstition about green cars being a jinx. Nascar or Indy. Not sure which...

Never heard that but cool to know. I wonder why?
I just hate some shades of green and most shades of yellow cars. Especially mustard yellow. Yuck!

It goes back to 1911 when Lee Oldfield [Barney's brother] blew a tire at Syracuse and piled into the stands killing 9 fans -- in a *Green Car*.
In 1921, Gaston Chevrolet [brother of Louis Chevrolet -- pioneer auto manufacturer] was killed in Beverly Hills. His car, Number 4 was *Green.*

I hear you about the Mustard Yellow. GM calls that hue, ''Ochre.'' I've had recurring nightmares, where, in my sleep I buy an Ochre '69 or '70, 3/4 ton longbed fleetside. When I pick up the truck, the whole bed is filled with fresh HorseSh!t! Which I didn't see in the ad because it was the same color as the bed.

Yeah, well, it's just a nightmare. Then I wake up and realize I have a beautiful 516 Orange '68 Stepside and a cool blue '71 Jimmy.

So as not to derail this thread -- $60K is pretty steep for a truck that retailed for almost $4K new; but it sure is clean. Cheaper than a fresh-tuned array of Flux Capacitors. I'd be sadder if it was a manual shift. Probably the Colonel's Wife's vehicle.
