Please overlook the rusty metal. It wasn't that way when I started. LOL

Hey alright, Nice to see you started a build thread. I like your fab work on the front and rear suspension. Nice clean wheel tubs too.

Re: "So Slow She's Rustin" 56 Build

Want a mostly stock appearing truck with 15" American racing Torque Thrust wheels. Want a 400 SBC and turbo 400 trans with stall converter and Ford 9" 3.89 gears. Gotta have late model bucket seats and A/C. I have a 3" exhaust system I am finishing now. Don't know for sure on paint. Can't go wrong with red, but may go with a weathered and worn paint scheme with my dad's shop name on doors. I built my own IFS crossmember with Chevrolet control arms, spindles, gear box, etc. I'm using late model Chevy Tahoe rear leaf springs and fabricated my own brackets. I want a slightly lowered stance with a better ride than stock. I have a long wish list and very little money.

Aaron. This build thread is your fault. After following your build, I had to get back on my truck. I may box the rear frame rails and c-notch as you originally did for a little more travel.

Lol:-)...it's a good move, I held off starting a build thread for so long because my progress was so slow and on and off all the time, but really it has helped me stay motivated. And I knew I liked looking at what others are doin so figured I should share. You'll be glad you did. And I really like the plans you have for the truck. I'll be watching.

Re: "So Slow She's Rustin" 56 Build

The spindles are 80's Impala with the 5 on 5 pattern. The control arms, gear box, and steering linkage are 80's Monte Carlo, S10 pickup, etc. I increased the hub to hub width to 60" and fabbed a fixture to build the crossmember out of 3/16" plate. I had to relocate the upper control arms to correct bump steer, etc created with track width increase. This got pretty complex and time consuming, but was something I always wanted to do.
