Re: New to the forum and New Truck

yeah thats what we thought. The fun part is everything works from the cigarette lighter which looks like its never lite one. To all the lower vents, lights, door locks. Motor is needing some loving cant decide if ill end up keeping it or doing a crate. But just in case i bought new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv valve, and all new filters and fluids. Still a bit laggy on throttle.

oh, i'd rebuild that old motor before throwin in a crate in a heartbeat. With that mileage, it may have never even been rebuilt - and if it's running, at least, then it certainly has the potential to be reubilt. Crates are nice and worry-free though.

The idea of keeping it as original as i can sounds the most appealing right now. It fires up instantly every time. When hitting the throttle tho she kinda mis fires then goes. But other than thats solid running motor just need to replace heater hoses.

Yeah im just trying to find that happy medium of were to stop and wait. Because when i start the frame up in a month or two im going to rebuild everything. Just trying to decide whats worth fixing or working on now. Because here shortly i might just be replacing it.

Re: New to the forum and New Truck

Chasing down a mystery coolant leak is now the priority ha.

When i bought it, it had coolant on the intake manifold. Drove it home that all burned off and then it stopped leaking oil all together

Then It started leaking slightly out the 5/8 heater hose on the heater box end.

Changed out the hose and now it leaks a lot out of both hoses on the heater box

Re: New to the forum and New Truck

Nice truck man, I love the seat!! Carb rebuild and a pertronix ignition or a HEI ignition will fix a bunch of running issues.
