Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

I will definately be putting together a build thread! From what I understand this truck is pretty rare. I've got it torn down to the cab and front clip. Interior is out. Hood, fenders, and glass are next! Then its off to have everything blasted and primered. Pics are on my dads camera though, (I was to dirty and in the zone to stop and take pics.)

Here's my 1979 GMC Sierra Grande...I might have already posted pics of it in this thread, but if I did, oh well, here's some updated pics!! The last picture is from right after I got it, before I started workin on it. It's a great truck, daily driver, work horse, and work in progress!!

I'm assuming the first picture is as it is now? I like the hood, only other time I've seen a dual cowl hood other 73-87 than on my truck. Like the wheels to.

That's right, that's how it is now, just took that picture a couple days ago. Thanks man, I love that hood! Been looking for one forever, but couldnt bring myself to pay $400 for a new one...scored this one off Craigslist for 80 bucks!! =D Gotta love craigslist man, found the wheels on there too, stole em for $50!!

Awesome man! I always loved that style paint scheme! Start a build thread in the 4x4 section to put all your pictures in, before pictures too!

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Mine's a half ton with 15" rims too. I tried finding some 31" tires to put on it but everybody around here said its hard to find any tires that big for a 15" rim now days so I may go to 16"... How big of a lift do you have?

I got the tires from Tirerack.com not much of a selection anymore on the 15 inch tire. The truck just has and extra spring all around no other lift.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Thought you guys needed a good laugh today so here ya go, it's not pretty but this is my 73' Custom Classic. I love this truck because it drives straight down the road even with a full load and pulling a trailer. The original 350 was replaced with a 454 because I needed a work horse! The 454 and the 14 bolt rear end is a great combo!
