Exclamation while we are on it, picture uploading and security token errors

I get a ton of email asking about the security token errors that sometimes come up when pictures are being attached to threads. It comes down to the picture is simply to big, and the server times out trying to resize it.

Today's cel phones are the most common way folks post pictures. Using mine as an example, the default picture size on my camera is 4128x2322 . The max size a jpg can be to be attached is 640x480. Older phones took that size or close to it. Digi cameras could be set to do smaller file sizes. No one really thinks about how huge your cel pics actually are.

The simplest thing to do is to resize them before uploading. If you size them down to 640x480, you should not have an issue at all.

A few had asked about this with the classified ads. Yes this happens there as well. You can post pictures larger that the 640x480, however, your ad may time out if you try to upload giant files. Just size them down a bit, and you should not have the time out issues.

Thanks!
