Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

All good man; I've never really had good luck hiring "professionals" to work on the house.

Example: a little over a year ago I painted the exterior "pop outs" on our two story; 1st floor only. Got myself up 24ft on the ladder and decided I better pay someone younger to do the 2nd story. Painter showed up and said "who painted the 1st floor?" I told him that I did, to which he responded "it looks great, you know we're not going to paint as well as you did right"

Pretty-much always end up doing it myself

That does suck. You’ll get back on track. Takes time.
