Opinions on after market inner and outer fenders?

The inner and outter fenders on my 72 are rusted through and I'm considering after market replacements. I'm looking for some opinions on after market fenders. Will they fit and look right on a 72?

Re: Opinions on after market inner and outer fenders?

Don't know about the inner fenders, but I have aftermarket fenders on my '69. They fit good, but the metal is a little thin. Don't know who made them. I replaced one with a Counterpart fender and bolt holes for the inner fender were off. I'm told Triplus are the ones to get.

Kenny's trucks in Mounds Oklahoma is great to deal with. I bought both the inner and outer fenders from him and they fit fine. He stocks the best stuff.

I got an inner fender from Frank's Pick'em Ups in Olympia, WA. It's prolly the same one everybody is sellin'. It fit fine with a few minor trims, and I had to make one fender mount hole a bit bigger.

ALOT OF PEOPLE SWEAR BY THE REPOPS, BUT PERSONALLY... I'D RATHER HAVE ONE SOLID OEM THAN SIX REPOPS. EVEN IF IT MEANS FIXING A FEW SMALL DENTS. I GUESS IT COMES FROM LIVING IN THE DESERT FOR QUITE A WHILE BEFORE I MOVED BACK EAST HERE. IT'S WORTH IT TO ME, EVEN IF IT MEANS PAYING SOME SEEMINGLY EXHORBANENT (SP?) SHIPPING COST. JOHN

Well in general it looks like repro fenders are acceptable, but OEM is preferred. I'll keep looking, but you'd be surprised how hard it is to find rust free inners and outters... even in this part of the country.

I'll use reproductions any day. They are thicker than the originals (at least the ones that I sell) and I'll sell you my NOS ones. Reproductions $99.95 Original GM $279.95 each. WES
