Here is a thread on the 67 - 72 forum with some for sale:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t=steel+wheels

I'm picking up a set of 5 this weekend. Malibu has spoken for 2 and I'm planning on using 2. So, it looks like I'll have 1 extra that I could make somebody a good deal on.

I know this is an older post but how wide is your tread , any pictures? All the 225/75/15 on 8 wide looks ballooned out and very small tread , 6.5 inches wide look silly ,yours looks awesome!

He hasn't logged on to the site since 2016, so I don't think you'll get an answer.

I'm running 275/60-15 on 15x8 on my step side. They have 4シ" backside, which is a tad snug on the rear.

Thanks but I'm not looking for this size, I have that size on my other truck, but want a wider tread with a skinny white wall tire, with a 15x8 wheel

Re: FINALLY!-factory GM 15x8 Steel Wheel

OK, based on my first career (20+ years selling wheels and tires), to avoid the stretched look on an 8" wheel you will want at least a 245 width tire, and 255 would be a better fit. For whitewalls, look for 245/70 or 255/70 tires.

Here's an example - https://simpletire.com/brands/vitour...ry=Del3&rad=AE

Re: FINALLY!-factory GM 15x8 Steel Wheel

He has a few photos in his build thread here. Some angles the 225 looks good, others it has that ballooned look you mentioned. I have 235/75r15s on my 15x8 and same thing, some angles it looks great and some it looks stretched. I wanted to go wider on the tire but at the time I couldn't find a decent 255 with a thin white. Those tires Arne posted would be a good option.

Here's my 235/75r15 on a 15x8 for reference. It's on a '72 but you get the idea:

You may need to call them to verify the whitewall on the 255/70-15. The image shows white, but the description of that size shows black.

Re: FINALLY!-factory GM 15x8 Steel Wheel

I've got 235/75 on 8" wheels as well, I kind of like the narrow tread/bulging sidewall look since it sort of replicates the proportions of bias plies. I usually go for stock but lowered look so the sidewall bulge looks more vintage than a chunky/square tire that would be more suited for a hot rod style build.

Bias plies-

235/75 on 8" rear wheels, 215/75 on stock 5.5" wheels in front.
