Evaporator Core

My AC evaporator needs replacing. Can anyone confirm if I can simply remove 1/2 of the fiberglass case facing the engine? I’m really not wanting to remove the entire assembly including the blower fan. Thanks

Re: Evaporator Core

Yes,you can!
Be careful of the bolts coming from the other side as they usually are hard to get the nuts off and will spin in the plastic housing, tearing the plastic on the inside.

Re: Evaporator Core

i remove all under coating from threads .
then run a thread chaser with lube down the long bolt threads .
clean off with brake cleaner and vary slow with a hand wrench see if the nut comes loose .
if not little heat and you prob good to go .

Re: Evaporator Core

This is good info. I can clearly see the 2 screws on the top of the assembly. How many are on the bottom of the box and are they hard to access?
