Did the 1968 Chevy C10 with 396 get the long water pump or short water pump?
I am wanting to order a water pump for my 1968 Chevy C10 shortbed. It is a original 396 bigblock and 400 turbo. Did it originally come with a short water pump or a long water pump?

Short. All 67-72 whether big or small block came from factory with short water pump.

Yes, it should be if you shop specifically by model year.

a long water pump will fit but your pullies will not line up.
