Doug,

Where did you find those wide steel rims and the crome caps? I have been looking for a set of those for my Gmc Longhorn to put on the rear.

Yes, you are correct on wheel size. Tires are 33s, with a 3-4 inch lift (not exactly sure on lift - I think it's near 4 inches. Fit's in the garage, tires don't rub! Wheels are kelsey hayes.

Thanks!

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

The center caps are out there... took me a few months to find them. I got the caps from PICKMUP on the board, then painted them. Caps are stainless. I've seen them on Ebay too - from time to time.

Rims - they are kelsey hayes, I found them locally. Hard to find... but worth the search.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I have a set of Accuride steelies off of a Ford truck, 16x7. Due to the different offset, the stick out further in relation to the centers than GM wheels. Thus they have a look similar to the old 16.5 wide wheels, and they take a dog dish. If I get a chance I'll snap a pic. They take a set of 265/17-16s nicely.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

This thread is fantastic. Slots, Turbines and what appears to be Jackman Whitespokes on Cadillacarts truck in #103. All these wheels were the rage when I was a kid. Around here the slang for the slots with the lip like in STLLOKN's #40 post is "kidney bean" slots due the shape of the slot compared to the ones without the lip, like these ones.

Anyone got a set of Jackman Aluminum spokes? I seem to remember it was not uncommon for the guys who had them to constantly have to add air to them.

I actually run a set of those on my 1stgen Cummins truck. I think to make them work on a 4x4 you'd have to run a spacer I had to on my Dodge cause the hit the Tie rod ends, Keep in mid these wheels have a lot of back space and would be tucked severley with out spacers. I'm not sure how they'd work on a 2wd though

And FWIW, there are a few different versions of these as well, Some of the satin and painted ones are just cast whereas the Polished ones are all Forged

I might have to do an experiment for grins and giggles.

They look good on Dodges

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

Thats a fair price for a set of polished ones but they can be found cheaper. What kind of tires are on em?

Here's the link:

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/an...276588811.html

The tires are good enough for summer driving, and I wouldn't pay full asking price....usually around here these wheels pop up in the $600 range.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

If I needed a set and was in the area and had the cash I'd probly jump on em if I were you. Another nice thing about these wheels is that there easy to sell. I actually know a couple guys lookin for a set as we speak.

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

I'm in need of some help, I have a 72 C-20 and I just got a set of 2500/HD Duramax wheels. I don't have the center caps, and want to be able to run them. I have looked on ebay for lug nuts but I'. not sure which ones I will need.
Thanks for any help,

Re: 8 lug wheels - what's on YOUR truck?

You need to run the conversion lug nuts that they sell on Ebay to run the center caps. The late model trucks run metric studs.

I understand that, which ones? 9/16-18 pitch thread with the 60 degree taper?
