Awesome score for a DD looks super clean inside and out somebody took great care of it The new rims and center caps fit perfectly. Have fun cruising the new rig around. Glad to hear that it was a cheap easy fix for it wanting to get warm.

I liked the old mags better, but these keep it under the radar.
The 4.3 trucks usually have an NV3500 trans in them, when it dies upgrade to a 4500.

Yeah, so far the transmission shifts like a piece of crap; 1st gear is hard, 4th gear is noisy. It definitely will be replaced at some point in the near future.

Re: Joining the 88-98 crowd!

Another simple trick to check your fan clutch.... Fold a piece of coardboard in half & touch it ( carefully) to the fan during idle. The fan will stop if the clutch is worn.

The weak fan will overheat your A/C.

Nice truck.....

Your truck is beautiful. It looks as though it has been lowered front and rear. Any idea on what may have been done? I have the same truck and my stock stance is way higher and the rear is a skyscraper compared to yours.

Yes it has been lowered, but I am not sure how they did it. I've had no time to really play around with this rig. Mostly just driving and maintaining. I would like to get under there and install some new shocks, then I'll find out how they lowered it.

Re: Joining the 88-98 crowd!

I would go on the lookout for a NV4500 as the other guy said, and have that all rebuilt and ready to go for when you have time to swap it out. Just a word of caution be sure to get one from a GM vehicle as they also came in Dodge Dakotas etc and they have differences that would screw up your installation and most people would never realize just looking at them that they are different. Might be a good time to find a 350 with the NV4500 attached if you are interested in going to a v8 at some point. Not that there is anything wrong with a 4.3... I would turbocharge the 4.3 personally.

Thanks. Yeah I would love to do a V8/NV4500 swap one day. I'll just wait for the right donor truck....
