I've learned one thing, if I've learned anything... as long as the Mrs. has a nice car, she won't mind me spending some money on mine.

I drive the blue Jetta. It's not much, but it has a turbo (...diesel).

Mine is a 4x4 truck girl although i got her a 2014 chevy cruze for all the driving she does. She still has her first truck a 94 chevy k1500. Had a 4.3 v6 and is currently geting a 5.3 swap. Hope to have it running in a week or so.

Very nice project, that's gonna feel like a whole different truck with a 5.3 in it. I have a 99 ext cab with a 5.3 and that thing hauls some serious butt, tows pretty good too

Update for the thread, I'm gonna start a 73 K5 blazer pretty soon. 350/350 with FiTech fuel injection, 4 wheel drive, and air conditioning. Should be an awesome ride when I'm done

My wife was suppose to drive the V8 Volvo (1980) she decided it wasn't safe enough and I wasn't finished with it. LOL. Just recently we upgraded from a 99 Avalon to a 2009 Avalon. The 2009 has all the safety features she wanted.
Plus its really nice, gets great gas mileage and all the road tests show it runs the 1/4 in 14.9.

Now to answer your question......IF your daughter is responsible, she should be OK in one. If you think she may drive it hard and cut up in it, it will definitely perform. I've heard the 6 cylinder Chargers are quick, but not nearly as quick as the RTs. I don't know anything about the newer Chargers except that a lady I work with traded in a 2008 RT and bought a new one in 2014 and said she wished she had the '08 back.

I think as far as safety and dependability goes, the Charger is a good car. Again, we've had no issues with ours at all. Hope that helps.
