Needing some Advice on replacement Grille quality 85-87

I just bought an 86 yesterday and i would like to find/ purchase a nice stock dual headlamp grille.

--the brothers/lmc/ etc. aftermarket (stock style) ones look pretty chincy.

Im am starting with nothing, so i will need the emblem and all the trim.

I ran across the one USA1industries grill, and the description makes it seem as its may be much better quality, but no pictures.

Wondered if everybody could help weigh in with their experiences.

Thanks

Re: Needing some Advice on replacement Grille quality 85-87

Had the same problem as you, and decided to purchase new and used parts to make my own complete unit.

1. Found a decent used grill that had good stainless, but plastic was trashed.
2. Purchased a new plastic grill from LMC (it was OK, but needed a little trimming for the factory stainless pieces to fit correctly) the trim pieces that came with the grill were junk.
3. Purchased a new emblem (GM Restoration Parts). https://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1987-C...pj3:rk:76:pf:0

4. Then painted the new grill with the correct color before putting everything together.

5. Don't forget to purchase the plastic screw mounting tabs that are inserted into the grill to old it in place.

Enjoy,
