I installed a TH400 in my '65 c10 and, as a result, the speedometer was way off. Some people here posted some places to get the parts to recalibrate it. But I was totally unsure of my mechanical skills to fix it. I recently met a guy that knew a place that can recalibrate it. It's in Weatherford, TX. A link is posted below.

I have to ask; did you install the correct speedometer gears?

I haven't been there yet. Only talked to the guy on the phone.

Yeah, I'm sure you could get within 1-2MPH with the correct gears.

The trick is though, at least in my case, is knowing which gears to buy(the first time). They guy told me there are two different types, one of them that has to be pressed off and back on(if I remember correctly, it's been a couple weeks). IMHO, I'd rather take them my truck and have them do it and then just go back and get it when they're done. But that's just me. YMMV.

OK, I see where you're coming from. I thought all they were gonna do is attempt to just calibrate the speedometer. It is a bit of PITA to change the drive gear cuz you have remove the tail shaft.
