It's probably a lot of work and you might be better doing an aftermarket 4 link setup

Re: 1980 c 10 rear suspension

If it is a short box - YES, Long box - No.

I am currently doing this - CPP sells a Trailing Arm kit for 73-87 which I am using. However be warned, this kit is poorly made - it has good "bones" to get you started but you'll need to make some modifications (cutting some of the steel parts and re-welding them).

I called them with my problems and they offered no solutions, just the typical - "thats the way its made." After that I would not recommend their parts to anyone - they do not stand behind them at all.

If it is a short box, are you looking to go trailing arms with springs like the 67-72 style or the same with bags? Just saying because, if you are wanting to bag the truck, you can do a basic 2 link from Extensive Metal Works located right there in your backyard... it is "similar" to trailing arms and doesn't require a lot of modifications. Bolts into the front leaf spring pockets... you don't have to go with the full bridge either... just a c-notch.

They sell it without the bridge and with notches.... I suggest calling because they are horrible at answering emails or chats (in their website).

Check out this build (3/4 down the page): he has the set up with c-notches... basic and clean

Porterbuilt had or has a trailing arm kit, heard they discontinued it.
