"292" 4.8L motor mount pictures for K-series

Hi all, looking for pictures of the motor mounts and cross-members for '73-'87 K-series trucks with the 292 Inline Six.

I am trying to figure out the correct brackets to use, or if I need a new cross-member.

I originally thought I needed the clam-shells that curved back under the fuel pump, like those used in P-chassis vans, but now not so sure...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: "292" 4.8L motor mount pictures for K-series

Still want info or pictures, I found this thread, http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=651304 , I originally thought I needed the brackets in Posts 15-17, but now not sure... looks like cross member or frame tower is different for 4x4?

I cant find any info for 73-87 trucks, only 72 and down.

I can find 292 2-wheel drive trucks all the time; what I need is 4x4 trucks, they are out there, but they've been difficult to find.

Thanks though.

Bump because I too am curious. I'm looking at 250/700R4/208 combo starting with a stripped K2 frame.

Maybe a dumb question but... Are the 250 & 292 mounts different?

Yes 250 and 292 mounts are different, a 250 has the passenger motor mount behind the fuel pump, directly opposite the drivers mount. A 250 can be identified by the short 4" side covers, and that the motor mount sits behind the fuel pump.

A 292 has offset motor mounts, the passenger side mount is between the fuel pump and distributor. It also has 6" tall side covers.

Your 250 will mount where a small block v8 would, the motor mounts are not offset like a 292.

I'm the lucky one! Still would be interested in the 292 picture as one can always hope to upgrade....
