Replacement gauge needles

I am reassembling my 83 C20 instrument cluster and the needle on my coolant temperature gauge broke off. I tried to remove the remains of the needle and that disintegrated - dried out from the desert heat. Where can I find a replacement gauge needle, and/or a full set of replacement gauge needles?

Re: Replacement gauge needles

Reproduction gauges have been available for a while now but I don't think I've seen any place selling just the needles (either separately or as a kit).

You might want to consider salvaging some used ones from an older gauge cluster. From 73 up to around 78 / 79 or so they had painted aluminum needles instead of plastic.

Re: Replacement gauge needles

I don't have any old gauges to salvage from, and the one square in the local junkyard is already stripped. The desert heat takes a toll on plastic parts quick. I might have to spring for another gauge.

Re: Replacement gauge needles

check eBay. there are always gauge clusters on there for various years. If you get one from a northern state, their plastic parts are usually good.

Re: Replacement gauge needles

I have a gauge, I was told it wasn’t working anymore. Voltmeter gauge is the one, I believe. Your welcome to it, for the needle. It has been stored inside, so it should be good. PM me and we can get something set up.
