A/C Condesner and replacement

I’m getting ready to replace the A/C condenser and other A/C components on my dad’s ‘84 K2500 with a 6.2L and will be converting it to R134 at the same time. In regard to the parallel flow condensers, is there a particular one or brand that has shown to fit or perform better? Or would a replacement from Napa or other parts stores be ok? I tried getting the Delco 15-6960, but it appears to be no longer available and I’ve read that others found the dimensions aren’t the same as the stock unit. Thanks!

Watching to see what is recommended. Something I'll need to do at some point.

Re: A/C Condesner and replacement

I am still using my original one that came with the 81. When I put in my new compressor, I upgraded all the under hood stuff but that. It works fine, but I am told it would be better with a newer style. As far as brand I got a set off ebay. To me if you are getting everything, you may want to look for a package set designed to work with one another. I do not know much about the brand and all but I have heard the "4seasons" name mentioned by many of my friends.

Re: A/C Condesner and replacement

The original unit in the truck has been open to the atmosphere for some time now, so that’s one of the main reasons I want to replace it. I wasn’t sure if there was a particular condenser that others have found that fit and perform better than others.
