New Budget Friendly Electronic Fan Option

Did some work today and tried this fan shroud assembly on the new truck radiators. With a little trimming on the edge to make it flat it fit like a glove. Add a couple of screws and spacers and call it a day.....

2006 Honda Accord 4CYL Part number 620690. 69.99 Rock Auto....

Interesting. I feel dumb spending $400 on my dual fans.

Sweet! I suspect that part could be found in a few yards too and if somebody had a cross-reference...

Re: New Budget Friendly Electronic Fan Option

any air flow specs on these?

call me sceptical, but I doubt the heat rejection requirements for a 4cyl honda meet those of a v8 gm..

we already know that not all aftermarket units are the same.. far from it actually..

would be nice if that fan pack has the capacity, but even if so, would it handle the duty cycle?

the fit and cost sure are attractive, but I'll reserve final opinion until I see some specs..

good luck and hoping it's viable..

Re: New Budget Friendly Electronic Fan Option

I run a 02 vette radiator= $100 brand new and a dual F body fan's $15 bucks from the salvage yard! Both from V8 ls cars! But I'm pretty sure the fans on the v6 are the same!

Well,
Since the new radiators changed I don't think there would be a problem with these dual fans on the aluminum radiator. The shroud covers near the entire core. I have a single Jeep fan on my GMC and it has been on there for years with no issues. My stuff runs in AZ with AC and if it can handle it here, it should be fine anywhere else.....

That fan came off a 176K mile car that runs AC nearly 10 months a year. Part number is also for the V6 cars.

The fans can be replaced if someone wants more power. Great shroud to start with and some new ones come with a coolant bottle.

Re: New Budget Friendly Electronic Fan Option

I still have original radiators in both trucks. You are saying that I cannot buy that same type of radiator anymore? I guess i better hold on to those. I see the one in the pics has an aluminum center and plastic side. Is this what we can expect in the future?

That is correct. The 369 radiator has been replaced by this aluminum one at all parts stores I have checked and even rockauto. Ever now and then another one pops up, but check the specs. I have one in my truck and it is fine at the moment, been there a few years now. Good luck getting the old ones fixed. A place here wants ridiculous money for a new core. They are even a replacement for the BB trucks.

Not saying you cannot find a new original style, but good luck on it.
