Drive shaft cut

I found a truck I like and it already has an LS engine mounted but still requires more work. Driveshaft also needs to be cut. Is it hard finding a place that can cut a driveshaft?

Re: Drive shaft cut

I think you would look up on google or yellow pages if you still have one, drive shaft balancing. There are drive shaft shops. If you are close to Princeton TX there is a drive shaft shop right there on US 380/University Dr. Also Eagle Transmission advertises they shorten and balance drive shafts. That is who I had rebuild my transmission.

Re: Drive shaft cut

Do you have an Inland Trucks Co? They have done mine.

Re: Drive shaft cut

Don't know your model but my installer found a late model Chevy car shaft that fit with no cutting on my 70 C10.

Re: Drive shaft cut

Anyone can cut it, the hard part is welding the yoke back on straight and balancing it ! I've had good experiences using heavy duty/semi-truck shops for this type of thing. What part of Texas are you in? That may help us out a little. I lived in Dallas for a long time before moving to AR, lots of good shops around there.
