I always tell my wife, "Baby, if I die sell the truck for $xxxxx--but sell the hooks seperately.

Up to $700, if they reach a grand mine are coming off! I'll make a casting first though.

Each one has a slightly different shape. At $700+ that would really bother me.

It appears the economy continues to recover from the great recession. And now a new parameter to gauge the health of the consumer. Bruce

Re: tow hooks crazy money

After $275 it's all shill bidding (probably close to what they're actually worth). They'll miraculously be relisted. Who in their right mind would bid it up to $700 3 days before the auction end?

Unfortunately this is one of the issues with ebay...

Re: tow hooks crazy money

29OD1,
Our set is listed so lets see if this other set is a gauge to the actual sale price. I noticed the previous set got relisted. I guess Ill be competing... difference is, I wont be bidding it up. I'm not near as greedy as the other guy! LOL
Wish me Luck.

Re: tow hooks crazy money

These were my hooks and I can guarantee you these did sell without shill bids. I had these listed on a Facebook page for $475 and decided to try Ebay, well I was surprised as you when they brought $700. They are on their way to Missouri. And I hope the guy gets to use them.

Re: tow hooks crazy money

I have / had 2 sets of these hooks The first set that brought $700 was the 69 - 72 style (more desirable). The set that I listed this past Sunday is the less desirable set (60 - 68) like the ones Cash3481 just listed. Cash3481 should do more homework before he speaks

Tony:
I never spoke bad about your post! I stated that if this is the direction of the hooks selling, I'm going to sell mine. Read any of my posts... You'll see that's not my style!
Im glad you made good money on them...it solidifies the collectibility (of the hooks). If you felt offended I appologize. I think everyone was happy to see your sale.
I hope I the other guy that was bidding sees mine and bids accordingly.

Re: tow hooks crazy money

Are these not a good buy even though they appear to be the earlier style

Re: tow hooks crazy money

The tow hooks in the link (sale ended) are the early styled 60 thru 66 and also the 67/68 style. Pretty sure they do not work very well for the 69/72 trucks as the deeper curl will hit or rub the bumper/frame area. Was a fair ($215 + 17.50 ship )but not great price at the ending, typically don't bring as much as the 69/72 or the more hard to find 72 only.

Re: tow hooks crazy money

Well guys, mine closed out at $220 with free shipping. About what I thought they were worth. Maybe a little low but hey, that's how it is.

Re: tow hooks crazy money

I actually bought the other set. Placed a last minute bid and expected them
To bring more and I would have gone after yours since they ended later.
