Brake Booster Install - Room for Air Cleaner?

Here are some pics of my partially complete brake booster install. There isn't room for both the booster and the stock air cleaner on. Any ideas/solutions? Is this the right booster?

That looks like a very restrictive air cleaner assembly. Are there any better flowing options out there?

Re: Brake Booster Install - Room for Air Cleaner?

There are all manner of open element air cleaners available if you feel the factory offset one is too restrictive. But, keep in mind, we are talking about an inline 6 cylinder engine that won't ever see north of 4K RPM. That doesn't require much of an air cleaner.

Re: Brake Booster Install - Room for Air Cleaner?

The heads on a 6 flow like mmmmooooolllllllllaaaaassssseeeeessss and the carb will probably flow more CFM than they do.It don't take much to feed air to a 6.I think a 4-6 in air filter would be plenty.

So...does anyone know where I can get one of those air cleaners? Another question - are the after market alternatives that come to mind?

Re: Brake Booster Install - Room for Air Cleaner?

Here's mine with the smaller booster and a 8-10 in air cleaner.Forgive me the rusty Air filter housing,it's been taken care of since the pic.
BTW this is a 250 though i believe they are about the same demensions as a 292.

I need one of those too. I have a new power disk conversion waiting to go on, and I bought my truck missing the aircleaner assembly (it's a '68 with a 250)

Aw just strap a cone type filter on the carb and add a wing on the back and the truck will suddenly be fast!

I just bought one on e-bay, so hopefully it will turn out to be good. Post it anyway and let me know when you do just in case the one I bought doesn't work out. Thanks for your help.
