bench seat thought

Guys,
just wanted to run this by you guys .
I am thinking of using some 1 x 5 rectangular tubing to use as a shim/ spacer to raise my seat an inch to allow for more room for speakers underneath.
and instead of using the the standard bolts going with a stud and washer/nut

Re: bench seat thought

Don't do that, just cut the doors for speakers

Seriously, I think the seats are already too high. I'm 6'-5" and look through the tint band on the windshield most of the time. And, raising the seat will put the steering wheel super close to the seat bottom.

I am in the process of fixing all the rust on my truck and repainting. As such, I patched the speaker holes in both doors and went with kick panel speakers as I still rock the in cab fuel tank so the cab corners were not an option.

Re: bench seat thought

well I run around 6'3 and 300 Lbs thank god for tilt LOL
I already have the kick panel speakers but was thinking about these to augment the 6.5 speakers and i figured it would not hurt to add a inch of room underneath, although these might fit fine...And i am leaving the tank in the cab.
