Re: Picture Thread:Golden Era Customs
Just coming across this awesome thread. I am a huge custom fan as well. My grandfather and I are the current caretakers of "Miss Taboo" a 1956 Chevy custom built between 1958-1961. We restored the car ourselves back into its early 60s style as they 90s were not good to the car.

While I'm not a huge customs fan I do like the last two pics of that car.

Re: Picture Thread:Golden Era Customs
A few more. The 58 Convertible was the twin car built to our 56 Chevy custom. Car was lost in the mid 60's. The 55 Chevy pickup was a truck my grandpa built in the early 90s. Car was last seen in Australia about 10ish years ago.

Re: Picture Thread:Golden Era Customs
Coolness. That guy liked those Ford headlights. On the '58 it's a very subtle change

Re: Picture Thread:Golden Era Customs
Thanks, but they are not Ford headlights, they are 57/58 Chrysler units. Most people think our 56 has 58 Chevy headlights. Had to have quad headlights as they were all the rage. Yeah its kind of a odd one on the 58, but the guys were buddies in the same car club so did matching mods to their cars. Our 56 though ended up getting more stuff done to it than the 58 over time.

Now I remember you corrected me before. They look a lot like 58/59 FoMoCo

Re: Picture Thread:Golden Era Customs
yeah they look close, most of the 58 cars did as they all went to quad headlights. Kinda wish they were Ford at times, much easier to find parts and way cheaper. Those forward look mopar parts are expensive and hard to find.
