any thoughts on air bag kits

hey ya'll, I am new to the site and found alot of good info here. putting a big block in my 68 stepside and while it is apart I am thinking of bagging it. has anyone used this kit from air bag it? http://www.airbagit.com/v/vspfiles/p...Rods_PAGE.html
wanted something simple and complete but dont want to use junk....any feed back would help!

right now the truck is lowered and it had a small block I bought it that way 12 yrs ago so i dont know what springs are in it but they are not cut or heated and it seemed to be a 4" front 6" rear drop. I worried that the bb will make the ft too low. It occasionally bottomed out b4. (the reason why I was thinking of bagging it.) Again any feed back would be appreciated! few pics of where im at below.
PS
Had a hard time finding bbc mounts but found some here in texas!

First...welcome to the site from a fellow stepper!

Second...If you do a search on the site, you won't find too many fans of AirBagit. I can't speak from first hand expirence, so I'm not going to bash. I just know I won't be buying from them after what I've read. Check out the site vendors in the suspension section. They'll get you pointed in the right direction.

Third...I think I remember a guy selling big block mounts just a week or two ago in the classifieds section. Go there and search "brackets".

And again...welcome!

Re: any thoughts on air bag kits

Back in my minitruckin days I dealt with “KP components” and “Suicidedoors” for all my air ride needs, great service from both of them in my experiences and the only ones I would do business with if I got back into the bag scene.
Although we might have some board members that deal with bags and can offer some help and maybe a discount for being a member.
Do some checking around before making a purchase especially the universal“KIT” deals, sometimes not the best route unless its for a specific vehicle.

Check on here for Porterbuilt, AVS, and scott's hot rods. Check out the suspension forum on here for a lot of answers in posts as well as current sales going on. You probably won't get as cheap of prices as airbagit....but the service will be better and the parts more reliable as a whole...

Re: any thoughts on air bag kits

Jason with AVS has a good deal right now on a schraeder valve complete set. Going this route is a cheap start to bags, you won't need to fork out major cash on a 4-link,sensors, compressors etc.. It is a much simpler setup, static drop if that is what you are looking for. It's in the suspension forum.

The site has lots of good vendors that can set you up with a great air kit from starter to professional.

I don't know anything about Airbagit but I did my rear end bags through Ride Tech and they were great.

Re: any thoughts on air bag kits

after some research here and other places on airbagit kits I went with a full kit from scotts hot rods...i did not feel the need to look further or try and find a "better deal".....he took the time to explain what i needed for the end result i wanted, had everything in stock and for a decent price. wish i coulda talked him into free shipping but it was only a hundred bucks.....I spend that sitting in a bar for a few hours...lol... Thanks for the comments guys! will post up results when i get the stuff mounted.

Another great reason to use our "board supporting" Vendors.
The personal service they provide to our members is great!

Make sure you take plenty of pictures of you progress.
Also,... WELCOME to the board!

Not on the road yet.

Thanks again.
