Your second pic is actually a 35 ford roadster...
The `37 has had a sealed beam headlite conversion at some point....

Could be.... They sold it as a 1937 but didn't have titles for most just bill of sale. Still brought too much for a rusty car in my opinion. It was all sure fun to look at though and the weather was perfect! couldn't have spent a Saturday any better.

Well not really too much money its all there, not a total rust bucket. easily restored, they turn it for a good profit margin, because its a roadster....

Cool too see that stuff is still out there. The second pic is a 35. The third pic is the 37 ( first year for the headlights integrated into the fender) . I have an original 36 ford 5w coupe that is still 6 volt and all original. My dad bought it when he was 15 in Sacramento, his first car, gave it too me when i was 16. ( it was the last year for the big ol headlights on the fenders ). You rarely see the gennies anymore. Very inspiring!!!

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

Was that one of those auctions where they are all brought in by different parties , or was it all from one yard/barn????

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

Everything is gone, there is some other stuff that might come up for sale. I will let ya know. It was all from one guys collection of 50+ years. It was a no reserve auction so everything sold. A crusher offered 300 bucks for anything so that was the starting bid.

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

wow. maybe it's just me, but the truck cab seems to be the only decent deal. for sale lot at carlisle and pomona have much, much nicer stuff for much less money. not cheap, but they are running and nowhere near as run down as those. maybe i'm just getting old. but there was a 58 caddy biarritz at last year's fall carlisle and it was running, still original yellow/white paint, and little rust - for $19K. And that was common. was there a bidding frenzy that drove this stuff sky high or what??

Wow! Very cool auction. I am glad the owner let stuff go before they all rusted into the ground! Those caddilacs in the background look like space ships!

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

that cab was worth it... it had the rare custom rear cab trim on it... worth more than the $475.00 they paid for the whole truck.

For us broke Okies, it seems like a lot of $$$$

I see this stuff all the time in people's yards here in OK and AR, but people don't want to let things go. They have emotional ties to them. Some of them will show you the opened end of a gun if you push them on it sometime........

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

The 35 would have brought 10K more had it really been a 32 in that condition.

What rare trim are you guys taking about. My pop has a lot of old trucks laying around on his property. I need to know what to look for next time I go.

Re: Car Auction prices in NE Okla

32s always bring the dough. there was a rusty 32 3 window at the swap meet corral a few years ago, no driveline no wheels or fenders, no grille, with a big sold sign on it. it had a tree grown/wrapped around most of the left front frame. I sauntered over to see who had overpaid for the latest 32 field find and about had a heart attack, the asking price was 3k! I took a picture of the car and the price, I will find em.

I think every 59 caddy convertible came with factory air, both suspension and conditioning. doesnt matter because 18k was a super steal on that car, all the trim looks present and that by itself would prob bring 20k. fixed up they bring 100-200k, that guy is probably still smiling.

I had no idea 59 caddy convertibles were bringing that much money . Just out of curiosity I looked up some current listings and found selling prices of up to 300k for that car in fully restored condition . I remember when they hit the show rooms , then watched them deteriorate over the years ( could have bought one for peanuts ) and now they are worth more than ever . $200k plus , I find that amazing .
