Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

here is a sneak peak of a custom emblem mounted on a spinner. they mount with a 5/16 bolt, i guessed on length and was a 1/4 of an inch off, so i'll pick up the correct measured length today.

Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

took friday off to get some work done on the pickup. my wife had made plans for this weekend to go out of town for my birthday, so i took an extra day to get my "need to's" taken care of.

brakes were the first order of business. decided to try the nbs master cylinder swap, that was a quick easy process. i changed out both wheel cylinders since the drivers side was leaking, and put new shoes on both sides. didn't need shoes due to wear but the drivers side were ruined from the brake fluid. also found out the self adjuster wasn't working on the drivers side, so i got that cleaned up and working properly as well.

next was a new brake pedal rubber pad, and the power door lock popper. both went fast. i think it took more time to get the door panel off than it did to install the popper. i now have fully functioning pdl's!

on the nbs master cylinder. it definitely has better pedal feel. the actual braking is just slightly better. not necessarily the life altering swap i was expecting. i'm going to bleed the brakes one more time and see if they get any better.

Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

haven't had a chance to bleed the brakes again. hopefully i can tackle that project this weekend.

had to get some new shoes for the upcoming winter. it had 255/70R15, which i prefer, but i couldn't find an xl or 6-ply tire in that size. so i went with some 235/75R15xl stockers. that killed the lowering budget for the time being. so i will probably focus on the bed next, get the raptor liner sprayed in the lower gray color. should only take me a day to knock it all out, including bed prep.

Why did you need 6 ply or xl? Plan to haul big loads?

they wear better on rock roads. less prone to puncture type holes from the rocks. on a normal set of p-metrics i can only get about 10-15k miles out of them if i'm lucky.

Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

well after much internal debate and a discussion with my wife, i've decided to send this pickup down the road to a new owner. the wife was against it originally but understood my side. truth be told, i don't really care to part with it either, but we don't "need" this pickup. we license and insure 5 vehicles already.

i'm getting tired of moving a car seat in and out, and the urge to tear this thing down and "build it" keeps itching at me. it's too nice of a driver to do that. it just needs lowered and for someone to enjoy it.

with 4 kids an extended cab or crew cab fits the bill better.

i've decided an ecsb K2500 will be the new pickup in the stall this time around. found a 98 with a 350/4l80e combo i'm going to look at tomorrow. either way my new dd/tow pig will be a K2500.

this was a fun little pickup and setup like i've always wanted, but just doesn't fit the bill right now. my dream swb is a square body gmc with a 73/74 gmc grill. once the kids are gone or i'm down to one or two, i'll build that pickup and call it a day.

thanks for following along!

It's a sharp truck so it should sell quick. Too bad you weren't a little closer to me.

Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

98 was a bust, good 20 footer. needed too much work to be worth my time or the asking price for that matter!

found 1 more up north (of all places) that may come home with me this weekend. i'll start a new thread as soon as the new one arrives, whatever it ends up being!

Re: 1995 Sierra RCSB 2WD DD

Thanks Bill!

Sold the pickup yesterday afternoon. I just realized I never posted pics of the interior, I'll put some up from my CL add. The new owner was just as happy about the pickup as I was buying it. When he test drove it, it was the first time I had heard the exhaust outside the pickup, boy did it sound sweet.
