Oil filter adapter gasket and seal, where is this seal supposed to fit?

The new small block 350 I have didnt come with an oil filter adapter so I ordered the adapter, bolts and gasket and seal. The seal/o ring is bigger than the interior so I assume its supposed to sit on top of the filters seal? Whats the right way to install this seal? Or toss it?

That seal could be for a Oil Cooler adaptor which you don't have.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I skipped the o ring seal and went ahead and used the gasket that came with my order..same one you show Rocknrod. The oil filter is now snugged up and ready for me to drop the oil in!

That gasket is ALSO for a Oil Cooler Adapter & NOT required for a standard oil filter adapter!!!!
