Four speed fan from California

Hey everyone. I've been using this board as a resource since back when I still had my "black ugly" truck and then registered some time ago, but have never posted.

Here's what started my love of chevy trucks, "black ugly":

'72 C20, came home dead on a flat bed. Blue Print engines 350 w/ mild cam, edelbrock performer intake and carb, sm420 trans, dana 60 rear. Should have kept it.

Then my work wagon:

Former LA city water truck, '85 custom deluxe, el strippo model. Stock 350, sm465 trans hydraulic clutch

And my most recent one, the Kru:

Had a 10' camper on the back and lived on a farm for the past 20 years until I liberated it. '76 C30 crew cab, GM goodwrench 350 crate, sm465 tractor clutch.

You may have noticed all three truck have a granny trans, but I learned to drive with a stick and that's the way I like it.

Re: Four speed fan from California

Thanks guys! This forum is definitely helping figure which way I want to go with the kru, which right now is ^UP^ on 36'ers. Military goodyear wranglers to be exact, 6 inch front and 3 inch rear lift ought to be about right.

Re: Four speed fan from California

Hey,welcome to front line from another gear jammer. You better watch yourself,I lurked here for a few years before registering and look at me now.I knew I was hopeless already, but now I`m hopelesser`n a wombat at a chicken pluckin`contest.
It hit me one day that my wife of 25 years always drove a stick until the one she left in.Well,her`63 Riviera was a Powerglide, but she hardly drove it.Then it hit me that all three of my kids learned on a stick and their first vehicles were all manuals. It sure helps to have two feet, two hands, and at least one eye to drive, huh?
