That is a possiblity on the test fit.

The builder of this truck used Classic performance products p/n 6372mp-t perch kit, cpls1-k plate adapter kit and the cp9427 crosmember kit. The motor mounts to be used are 59-70 passenger car mounts (chevy). He went with the 4L60 trans with the gear vendor unit. When we are close to completing the first product run, I will be in touch with you Rob.

Do you have a picture of the oil pan and front crossmember clearance? Just trying to get an idea of the relative engine placement as compared to mine.

okay, here are the pics of the oil pan-x-member clearance. You're looking at around 1 1/4" from the bottom of the pan to the top of the x-member. The main sump of the pan has about 1" around the rear of the x-member. The pan is a milodon. Hope this helps.

Welcome from Missouri. Always great to have new vendors here. This is a little off topic,... But I need a set of "shorty" headers for a big block chevy in a '73-'87 truck. Do you offer a product for this application? (ceramic coated?) Thanks for joining the forum.

We have a block hugger style header that may work. Shoot me a PM w/ your email addy and I'll see if I can dig up some pics/measurements for ya.

Did they have to change the pan because a stock one wouldn't work?

I don't think so. I've read through cpp's instructions and I didn't see any mention of an aftermarket pan. I will double check when I get back in the office though.

so what kinda cost are these gonna run, coated version is what im instrested in...also any plans on makeing them 4 tubes in addition to the tri-y design?
also i have done these swaps, and am currently doing one as well..please put me inline for a trial fit too, like hart_rob

I don't have pricing yet, it's coming though.

I will just stick to the tri-y design right now. I don't know what you plan to do with your truck but the tri-y method is great for trucks and puts the power right where you will need it, in the low to mid range.

Wow and welcome I too am interested in the headers I have already done the swap and am using a set of ls6 manifolds in my swap, but I understand the long tubes are a worth while addition. I built custom mounts and sat mine as far back and down as possible. your pictures are great but I am still not sure what might fit on mine.

Thanks for the welcome Dave. If there are other shots I can take let me know. I can tell you that there seems to be an awful lot of room between the back of the engine and the firewall. The engine seems to be about as low as it can go and the pan is sitting real close to the top of x-member. There is about 1 1/4" between to two components. When I designed the headers, I decided to leave alot of room between the back tubes of the header and the firewall because I figured that guys would want to engine as far back as possible so there might be a good chance these will fit. We'll keep working on it.
