It feels more like a car than a truck to me. I kicked around the idea of towing with the ranger and said naw ill do it with the chevy.

I know this is not a ford forum but any opinions on towing a 16 foot toy hauler with my ranger?

Must be a white knuckle experience passing a semi with that. Travel trailers are the worst. I pulled a 34 foot travel trailer from Minneapolis to willinstan north dakota and i hated every minute of it. It was light and easy to pull but it was squirrely. 5th wheel is the way to go if you plan on putting on many miles. Or a dually.

I should clarify that i pulled it there with my bosses 2010 3/4 ton four door dodge diesal. I had plenty of pickup but it still sucked. Averaged 70mph and 9mpg. 500 miles or so.

I know this is old, but the problem with that hitch setup is that bumper is putting alot of leverage on that short amount of frame.

Re: c20 towing capacity

Just thought I'd chime in. My dad for years towed a 2 horse trailer all over the place with the truck I have now. Just hanging the trailer on the bumper. Not sure I would do it but the bumper and mounts are still solid.

I will be getting a frame mount hitch one of these days for piece of mind while towing
