Thanks so much Tom. The only reason it turned out as nice as it did is because of the help I received here on the board. I owe a lot to many members who pitched in with their knowledge, guidance, parts, and opinions. As for the Blazer, here's a few pics. It's killing me that the Blazer is in storage but I don't want to drive it around on treated roads. The low temps this week will drop below zero for consecutive days. But the summers are awesome here LOL!

Thanks Ryan! Not quite a survivor as it was painted once. It's a CA K5 with almost no rust. Now it's in deep freeze for the time being. Here's a corner shot of the year of manufacture plate for the Blazer. I don't know what wrong with me but there's a 72 K20 in original paint wood hauler for sale near me cheap that I'm trying to resist buying and putting a plow on it. I need help...

Pete it's nice to see you got your trucks up there now! There's a Bill in New Mexico that told me he can finally pull his truck out of the garage and go cruise because yours are gone to make his look bad.

Wow just read the whole13 page book. Awesome resto. I wish I has the time and money to Half of what you have done. I've been playing with mine 14 years and it ain't half as nice. The blazer is sweet too. If that other k20 is cheap you could Make it Your daily driver winter fun rig and plow with it. At least it Would go to A good Home.

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah, I was fortunate to do what I was able to do and use as many OEM and NOS parts I did. The guys at Mild to Wild were great to work with too as was the support of the folks here on the board. Had I not found this website I'd have saved a lot of cash LOL! I'm really glad the K20 was saved from the crusher. I would like to have a daily driver to bomb around in and maybe hook up a plow, etc. I've several potential candidates here in MT and a lot of leftover parts that need a project.

I just finished reading the entire 13 page build thread and as someone said, the English language does not provide for the awesome work on your truck. I could not find any pictures that are specific to the auxiliary tank. Would you please share some information?

Hi Paul - Thanks! You bet, check this link here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=330636

It's prob similar to the project you are considering and shows what GM did in 1970. Good luck!

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

hi Pete,
I just picked up a rear painted "sport" bumper. it came with the license holder bolted in place.
I remembered your K5 was mostly original and I have a question.....
what was the factory finish on the license plate holder when the bumper is chrome?
I'm guessing argent silver but am probably wrong.
thanks for your help.
I hope your weather is warming up 'cause Mich. is still in the deep freeze.
and HAPPY ST PATTYS DAY!!

Re: 72 K20 Cheyenne Super Build

Hey Dave!

Great question! I'll check the K5 (in storage) but I have this bumper I removed (with gravel guards!) from an original paint 72 Blazer sitting in a local salvage yard. The plate holder actually has what appears to be white paint on top of an argent silver. The back is all surface rust and yields no clues other than it appears to not have been painted. The rear bumper I used for the K20 was a painted example that had a white plate holder IIRC. My best guess at the moment is white like the inside of the 71-72 bumper mounted front turn signals. I know my Blazer has the original bumper and an OEM plate light so will have to see what's under the license plate.

I went with black for the plate holder on my K20 but this is probably not correct...

Happy St. Pats!
