Shortening the bed on 82 stepside, anyone ???

Shortening the bed on 82 stepside, anyone ???
Hi , has anyone done this or has seen this , maybe some pictures of it?
I was first thinking to make the rear fenders longer , but i like the really old beds that are shorter, so i am thinking about shortening the bed, not the fenders,
almost untill the end matches up with the fenders, will look realy fat.
I am lowering the fenders about 1-2 inches untill it sits straight with the cab! On all stepsides you see that the step (and fenders) is to high compared with the cab.
I ve done some PS with a fleetside but i am looking for pics of a step.
The difference is difficult to see on a step (after PS).
Maybe its difficult to see but in the end it would be a major difference i think , especially on a step.
So , if someone has seen this, please upload.
